Life’s Not Fare is an examination of the plight of the Haitian immigrant in Miami and how resilience, courage, and a little bit of stubbornness could drastically change the trajectory of a generation. This visual ethnography captures the story of Ramces Noël finding what he thought was freedom, through the taxi business, to support his parents and young siblings in Haiti as well as his wife and children in Miami. His story represents the countless Haitian immigrants who left Haiti in search of a new frontier.
